It serves the investigation of cities, communities and residential places, their zip codes, telephone preselections, coordinates and community-keys, the hierachical order, car licence flags as well as the matching topographical maps. It supports conversions between different coordinate systems and the distance calculation between the towns and places. It also supports perimeter searches on locals and postal ZIP codes and fills the results in printable lists. All results are represented in graphic overviews. This for personnel computers conceived program ORTWIN puts information over the towns and places of the Federal Republic of Germany to the disposal. The program ORTWIN works with Gauss-Krueger coordinates and geographical coordinates, that itself on the Potsdam date (DHDN, Bessel ellipsoid with central point Rauenberg) covers and with UTM coordinates, that itself on the date ETRS89 (GRS80 / WGS84) covers.
