| ActiveFiler is a document filing solution. It assists with the saving of documents from Microsoft Word (it can also be used with other programs but would need some configuration).
Instead of having to navigate to the right folder and name a Word document when you try to save it, ActiveFiler makes this process automatic, based on rules you set up. In other words, ActiveFiler generates a location and name for a document at the point of saving. It also creates all necessary folders. The benefit of this is quicker, easier and more accurate saving.
Typically ActiveFiler is configured by an organisation s IT department. The rest of the staff, those that will be using ActiveFiler don t need to do any configuration. They won t even have any new software to learn. What they will notice is that saving has become very simple and reliable. ActiveFiler can handle quite complex systems of filing, using data from a number of sources and allowing formatting and manipulation of that data in order to generate a file path. It is also very configurable and easily integrated with other systems having an API and using open standards such as XML.
